We are so excited to welcome Bailey Starnes as our NEW Recreation Coordinator for Therapeutics!! Bailey is excited to join the Decatur Parks and Recreation team. Driven by a passion for helping others, she decided to enter the world of recreational therapy by obtaining her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Alabama, as well as the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC). Through her education she had the opportunity to complete a variety of internships with various populations, including disabled veterans, adult day programs, and the special needs camp setting. For the last four years, Bailey has been working in the behavioral health sector, providing therapeutic recreation programming to a wide range of clients. Bailey is looking forward to growing with the therapeutics program and helping it flourish for all those involved. In her free time Bailey enjoys crafting, watching sports, and spending time with her two dogs, Teddy and Levi.
