Garden Rules

The Rose Garden is a historic public garden renovated, funded and managed by a partnership between the City of Decatur Parks and Recreation and Friends of Delano Park.  It is patrolled by Decatur City Police.  It is open to the public from dawn until dusk.

 

 

You are welcome to: 

  • enjoy the gardens without entering the flower beds or picking flowers
  • deposit waste in trash receptacles
  • take souvenir photos (commercial photography by permit only)
  • enjoy reading, relaxing, and daydreaming
  • leave the garden in better condition than you found it

Park rules prohibit: 

  • pets
  • entering the flower beds or picking flowers
  • bike riding, skateboarding, roller blading/skating, and scooters
  • alcohol/drug use or smoking
  • ball playing, running, horseplay, throwing of objects, or any objectionable behavior
  • sitting or standing on columns
  • driving/parking unauthorized vehicles inside park
  • performances or commercial activity except by permit
  • feeding birds or squirrels
  • events in any part of the Rose Garden to the exclusion of others except by permit
