Southwest Decatur is home to the beautiful Jack Allen Recreation Complex. As you top the hill on the main entrance off Modaus Road SW, you will see 10 international size soccer fields situated on 77 acres of manicured turf. Jack Allen Recreation Complex quickly became recognized as one of the best soccer facilities in the Southeast. The complex has hosted numerous soccer events including adult and youth international games, Alabama State Cup Championships, Presidents Cup and the NAIA Women's Soccer Championships. The Open Cup has also hosted tournaments with teams from 8 different countries. A number of colleges have played games at JARC for exhibition and for season league games. Perhaps the most memorable would be the April 9, 2006, NCAA Duke Women's team defeating the Mexico National Women's team 1-0 in front of a capacity crowd.

Jack Allen Recreation Complex also plays host to our local Decatur Soccer Associationand our local club teams, River City United, for their practices and games. And in June, 2011, we were host to the Region III Presidents Cup through the Alabama Youth Soccer Association where teams from eleven states participated during three days of competition. Jack Allen Recreation Complex has also been the site for Long Drive Golf Competition, Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments, Flag Football and the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competitions.
