Coaches Information

 

Youth Basketball League Coaches Information 

 

Decatur’s Youth Basketball League is dependent on volunteer coaches. Without which we could not be successful. We are extremely proud and appreciative of these coaches. Coaches who give of their time and talents to help our children become more than just better basketball players, helping instill the many benefits derived from participation in youth sports. 

  

Having a child on the team is not required. We have a number of excellent coaches who coach because of their love of the game and the positive impact they can have in the lives of their players. 

 

For the safety of the children, all coaches are submitted to full criminal background checks. We also require all coaches to be members of the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA). Membership is obtained by simply attending one of the many coach’s clinics we offer before the season. There is no charge to our head coaches. Clinics typically last less than 2 hours.
